distributed writing project
I came across this entry in a "distributed writing project" a little while ago and thought that the wordherders might attempt something similar.
So what do you think? Are you up for writing a short essay on an assigned topic and linking back to an initial post that sets it all up? And what if each of us were to invite one blogger from outside the wordherder circle to do the same?
Any thoughts on a topic?
- Interesting public transportation stories.
- First book you really loved.
- Earliest computing experience, (see the Newly Digital collection referenced above).
- Encounters with famous people.
- Your favorite meal.

I like this idea a lot--it could be an interesting way to cultivate the collective spirit behind Wordherders. I'm not too picky about topics. Any of George's suggestions would be cool with me, especially earliest computing experience or a similar topic.

Sounds good to me - I think we'd all have something to contribute on all of the topics listed. There seems to be a theme of transportation stories lately!

Sounds rad to me too!

let's do it. do you want to pick the topic, George?

Future possibilities might include "desert island" lists: books, movies, or CDs that you would want to take to a desert island. Yes, it's contrived and arbitrary, but it's also fun and potentially interesting.

I think I've already started this with my "distributed cookbook" idea. Chuck and Kari have done TrackBacks to my original entry on my blog, and Natalie has posted a recipe in the comments section. Carry on, 'herders!
